Delivering on a more effective Child Policy Portfolio in the United Kingdom

With persistently high levels of child poverty in the United Kingdom, what can be done to achieve a more efficient, effective and comprehensive child policy portfolio.

This project examines the effectiveness and efficiency of the child policy portfolio in the United Kingdom. It seeks to assess and improve the child policy portfolio through providing evidence to support advocacy and reform benefiting children, families, and society, with a focus on child poverty and inequality. The study will analyse spending patterns and the impact of existing policies on child well-being, including poverty, educational outcomes, and access to services. The study will also produce a comprehensive, evidence-based plan for a transition to a more effective child policy portfolio, drawing on international best practices and considering the cost-effectiveness of potential reforms.

This project was commissioned by UNICEF United Kingdom. The project runs from October 2024 to December 2024.
